Simulation Description

Company Overview

Zenith is an innovative technology company founded in 2010, specializing in the development of cloud-native solutions. Among its achievements, Zenith has reduced transaction processing times by 40% for the European Central Bank and developed an e-commerce platform for GlobalMart with a satisfaction rate of 92%. Recently, Zenith launched "Zenith CloudX", a revolutionary platform that has enabled FinTech Innovations to handle over 10 million transactions per day without interruptions. Using technologies like Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Jenkins, Zenith has improved efficiency and service continuity for clients such as Telecom Italia and HealthCare Solutions. The company faces challenges such as managing distributed teams and the need to maintain high product quality. Strategic goals include becoming the leading provider of cloud-native solutions by 2025, increasing market share by 15% annually.

Challenge

The main challenge of the simulation is to resolve a communication problem within Zenith's cloud-native development team. Recently, two developers worked independently on the same security feature, causing duplication of work and significant project delays. The team operates in a microservices architecture environment, which requires precise coordination. The duplication of work caused an 80-hour development delay, compromising the testing and integration phase. Client pressure from the European Central Bank and GlobalMart increases the urgency to resolve these issues. The need to realign roles and responsibilities is essential to avoid further inefficiencies.

Mission

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for guiding the team through conflict resolution and improving communication. You will interact with development team members, including developers and testers, as well as project managers and company executives. Your main activities include:

  1. Conducting individual alignment meetings: Clarify the roles and responsibilities of each team member to avoid duplication of work.
  2. Redistributing tasks: Optimize workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
  3. Monitoring progress and providing continuous feedback: Ensure the team is working cohesively and deadlines are met.

Expected Outcomes

To complete the simulation, you must produce a final document that includes:

  1. Role Alignment Report: Describes the roles and responsibilities of each team member and the actions taken to resolve overlaps.
  2. Task Redistribution Plan: Details how tasks were reassigned to optimize workflow.
  3. Monitoring and Feedback Report: Documents the team's progress, feedback provided, and corrective actions taken.

Once completed, save the document in PDF format and send it to Alice Letterman for final review.
